Last night, I got a message from the coordinator of this year’s Proud to Be LGBT Campaign—a campaign network of individuals and organizations based in the University of the Philippines, advocating protection of all Filipinos from discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression—asking me if I could be one of their talents for a viral video they’ll be shooting about the LGBT community and why people like me support them.

It was very moving to hear that they chose me, considering the recent events happening in my life. I was told that I’m very passionate and have been inspirational to many—which is something I don’t hear everyday!

I’m really excited for the shoot, and is something I want to dedicate to my brother (it’s his birthday today, by the way!) who I’m so proud of and who I will always love and accept no matter what.

I know a lot of people are still closed-minded about this issue but I’m really hoping the video and the campaign can change minds and maybe even lives.
